Rooted in support

We are rooted in the support you need throughout this journey, offering guidance, education, advocacy, and a steady presence from pregnancy through birth and into motherhood.

Rooted In Her Foundation was born from a simple belief: every mother deserves to feel supported, informed, and empowered throughout her journey. We know that pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum recovery, and pregnancy or infant loss can bring both incredible joy and unexpected challenges. No family should have to navigate those moments alone.

Across Texas and communities throughout the United States, too many women face barriers to quality maternal healthcare, postpartum support, and childbirth education. Rooted In Her Foundation was created to help change that. Through maternal health education, doula support, birth advocacy, postpartum care, bereavement resources, and community partnerships, we are building a village where mothers and families have access to the care, encouragement, and resources they need to thrive. Our story is one of hope, resilience, and a commitment to creating healthier families, stronger communities, and brighter futures. When women are supported, generations grow stronger.

Meet Our Founder

Hi, I’m Shannon Wallace, MHP, CHW, and a DONA International-trained Full-Spectrum Doula. I’m so happy you’re here. Pregnancy and birth can come with so many questions, choices, and emotions. You don’t have to navigate it all on your own. I’m honored to be a part of your journey and to help you feel informed, supported, and confident in the choices ahead.

Becoming a parent is a life-changing experience, and you deserve to have someone in your corner who is skilled and knowledgeable, who listens, guides you, and supports you along the way.

My work is rooted in mental health, maternal health, and the belief that compassionate, informed support can shape how a woman experiences pregnancy, birth, and the transition into motherhood. With a background in nursing, mental health, and community health, I’ve seen how deeply mental and physical well-being are connected during this transformative time. I believe every expectant mother should understand the options available to her, feel comfortable asking questions, and have the information she needs to make decisions that feel right for her and her family.

I became a doula because I wanted to be part of creating safer, more supportive experiences for all women, but especially for BIPOC families who continue to face disparities in maternal and birth outcomes. Through education, advocacy, and compassionate birth and postpartum support, I help families feel prepared, confident, and supported in their choices.

Whether you’re preparing for birth, navigating postpartum, or simply looking for someone who will listen and support you without judgment, I’m here to walk alongside you.
